Suggested Citation: America's Health Rankings analysis of America's Health Rankings composite measure, United Health Foundation, AmericasHealthRankings.org, accessed 2024.

The clinical care category represents access to quality health care and preventive services, such as primary care providers, immunizations and preventable hospitalizations. This category is one of the five categories of measures used in the America’s Health Rankings model. The other four categories are behaviors, social and economic factors, physical environment and health outcomes. This model is built upon the World Health Organization’s definition of health: “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Our model reflects that determinants of health directly influence health outcomes.

Current Reports

America’s Health Rankings builds on the work of the United Health Foundation to draw attention to public health and better understand the health of various populations. Our platform provides relevant information that policymakers, public health officials, advocates and leaders can use to effect change in their communities.

We have developed detailed analyses on the health of key populations in the country, including women and children, seniors and those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, in addition to a deep dive into health disparities across the country.
