The findings of the 2024 Senior Report reinforce what Hispanic Federation sees in our communities: the health of older adults is inextricably linked with social factors and their families and communities. Through our partnership with the United Health Foundation, we’re able to directly address the social drivers of health among the Hispanic community by providing targeted educational initiatives, improving access to health care resources, and advocating for their social needs.
As an organization that values community engagement, we at Hispanic Federation strive to improve technological and financial literacy through programs that teach older adults how to navigate the internet, use devices and manage their finances — skills that are crucial for everyday life, help them stay connected with loved ones and promote financial stability as they age.
Importantly, our programming recognizes there are many cultures within the Hispanic population; we have over 650 partner agencies across the country who understand communities’ unique, local needs. Insights from these organizations help us tailor our approach and support all Hispanic communities.
To ensure our services meet the needs of the Hispanic population, it is critical that we track a broad range of data over time. Tools like America’s Health Rankings help us understand where our services are needed most, strengthen our advocacy efforts and enable us to improve the well-being of the communities we serve.
